Your Roadtrek’s exterior is easy to care for and fairly indestructible as long as you follow some basic rules.  Below are some dos and don’ts of washing your Roadtrek and maintaining the exterior graphics.  I think it’s important because many of us tend to use the wrong chemicals when washing our vehicles. Take a look we have put together:

DO:

  1. Wash the exterior of your Roadtrek with soap made for cars.  Make sure to rinse thoroughly.
  2. Keep high pressure nozzles at least 2 1/2 feet from the edge of the graphics. High pressure spray may cause the edge of the graphic to peel.
  3. Test any cleaning solution on a small section of the decal before using.

DO NOT:

  1. Do not use home detergent or any other soap not made for vehicles.
  2. Do not use any type of solvents on the graphics. Solvents may soften or smear colors.
  3. Do not let gasoline or other fuels drip or stay on graphics for any length of time. If spill occurs, wipe off and rinse with water immediately.
  4. Do not apply wax over graphics. Wax that has dried between stripes can be removed by softening it with rubbing alcohol and cotton swabs. Be sure to rinse with water after cleaning.
  • Care and Caution should be taken when storing your vehicle. Vinyl graphics and other items such as dashboards, tires and flexible rubber products will have a shorter life expectancy when exposed to severe heat and sunlight.
  • Protection of graphics from prolonged direct sunlight will ensure extended life.

If you take these simple precautions, your Roadtrek will stay looking new for years to come.  Roadtrek class b campers are easy to care for and a blast to drive. Call 1-866-975-3287 or fill out the contact us form with any questions.

I received this note from one of our recent customers about her travels in a 2010 Roadtrek 210 Popular:

Traveling with children can be very stressful! This summer my husband and I took our five year old to Chicago in our Roadtrek.  We loved the ability to move around the cabin freely an d enjoy many of the amenities we have at home.  It was perfect, my daughter watched a movie while we both relaxed on the back sofa.  The seven hour drive was easy and painless.  More importantly we felt safe and secure in our Roadtrek!

– Betty Haase

Betty I completely agree with you! Roadtrek Class B Campers provide the perfect way to travel with children.  My wife and I also have a little one who loves to watch movies in the van.  Thanks for sharing your story and happy Roadtreking!

Yesterday I was introduced to a worldwide treasure hunt called geocaching.  I had no idea the great big American flag at Dave Arbogast was a hidden treasure in the game! For those of us who don’t know, here is a quick definition of geocaching:

Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online. Geocaching is enjoyed by people from all age groups, with a strong sense of community and support for the environment.

What a perfect game for the Roadtrek traveler! If you get a chance visit www.geocaching.com. Next time my wife and I go on a trip in our Roadtrek we plan on using my iPhone to discover hidden treasures.  If you ever pass through Ohio in your Roadtrek stop by Dave Arbogast and search for our hidden container.

The cooler temperatures have many of us thinking about the coming winter and the joys of dealing with snow.  If you plan on heading to warmer weather why not enjoy yourself in a Roadtrek.  Roadtrek Class B Campers are the perfect vehicle for winter travels.  Most Snowbird destinations have special attractions, good shopping, and restaurants—and there are friendly people everywhere.  All of which can be enjoyed from the comforts of your class b van.

Roadtrek Camper Vans get wonderful gas mileage making your travels economical.  See more of the United States without going broke. In a Roadtrek extended stays are also comfortable with many of the same amenities of home.  Roadtrek’s are fully self contained and can operate without being hooked up at a campground site.  When you are staying in a private campground with external connections for electrical power and fresh & waste water, you can take advantage of these connections to extend your stay beyond the capacities of your water tanks.

Roadtrek Class B Vans are perfect for snowbirds. For more information, call one of the experts at Arbogast!  We have a large selection of new and used class b vans for sale.

The air conditioner on every Roadtrek is also either a heat pump, or equipped with heat strips. These will provide adequate heat to warm the interior of your Roadtrek Class B Camper when the outside temperature is above 40 degrees. Perfect for those fall mornings and evenings when the temperature dips after the sun goes down. The heat pump allows you to maintain a comfortable inside temperature utilizing the campground’s electric service, and saves your LP for colder temperature use. When the temperature falls below 40 degrees, simply start your onboard 16,000 BTU propane furnace.

One of the most frequently asked questions this time of year: Is the water system designed for winter use? In 190 and 210 models, Roadtrek has added a second fresh water tank located inside the motor home. By using RV antifreeze in the black and gray holding tanks, the water system can be used in below freezing conditions to 10 degrees F (-10 degrees C). In the 170, RS and SS models, the fresh water tank, water lines, and water heater should not be used in below freezing temperatures. However, you can still use the sink and toilet by carrying a fresh water supply inside the vehicle and using RV anti-freeze in the black and gray waste-water tanks.

Roadtrek Van’s are fully self contained and can operate without being hooked up at a campground site. 110 and 12V electrical power is available for fresh & waste water plumbing, propane, comfort heating & cooling, refrigeration, and cooking. The batteries can be re-charged by the generator just by driving the van or idling the engine. Roadtrek class b vans provide all the functionality of large RV but are more efficient and compact.

When you are staying in a private campground with external connections for electrical power and fresh & waste water, you can take advantage of these connections to extend your stay beyond the capacities of your water tanks.  Roadtrek class b campers are perfect for boon docking or campground staying.  Do need more information about camping in a class b van?  Call 1-866-975-3287 to speak with one of the experts at Dave Arbogast Van Depot.

My family and friends are heading to the Ohio State Game this weekend in a Roadtrek 190 Popular. The Roadtrek is the perfect tailgate vehicle for football games.  We love the ability prepare food in the kitchen, relax under the awning, and use our own bathroom.  The porta-potties at the game are less than desirable!

The Roadtrek’s small size enables us to pull into tight parking lots without a worry.  We look forward to grilling out, watching the game and avoiding traffic by spending the night in the comfort of our Roadtrek. There is no better way to enjoy a Buckeyes football game! If you happen to see a Roadtrek at the game from Dave Arbogast, feel free to stop by and have a burger!
